Group classes are one of the best ways to set your puppy up for success. They’re not just about learning commands. When puppies train alongside other puppies, they build social skills, learn to focus around distractions, and develop confidence that carries into every part of their life.
At Trusted Tails, our group classes are small enough that every puppy gets individual attention, but social enough that your pup gets the real-world experience they need. And we make it fun. Training should feel like play, for the puppies and for their people.
Puppy Tails Training Class
Puppy Tails Training Class is our 6-week group puppy training class for puppies 12–20 weeks old. This is one of our main entry points for young puppies and a great fit for families ready to build focus, manners, confidence, and communication in a positive group setting.
This class includes five weeks of skill-building and one final week for puppies to show off what they have learned. Puppies practice handler focus, recall foundations, problem-solving games, enrichment, cooperative care, place training, leash walking introductions, long-line skills, and calm behavior around other puppies and people.
Puppy parents also learn how to use rewards effectively, support calm routines, understand normal puppy behavior, and prepare for the adolescent stage before those big teenage feelings arrive.
Every puppy is encouraged to take the next step. Some families may choose to repeat Puppy Tails once for extra confidence and practice, and repeat enrollment is available at 50% off. Graduates also receive 5% off our teen/adolescent program.
AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program
Are you as impressed with your puppy as we are? Want to make it official and get them a title?
Trusted Tails will offer the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy Program on a rotating basis, so keep an eye out for upcoming dates. This program is a wonderful way to celebrate your puppy’s progress while continuing to build teamwork, manners, and responsible puppy ownership skills.
S.T.A.R. stands for Socialization, Training, Activity, and a Responsible owner. The program supports puppies and their people as they practice early skills like leash walking, coming when called, allowing petting and handling, responding to their person, practicing polite behavior, and building confidence in a class environment.
This is a great fit for families who want a structured goal, are interested in AKC recognition, or want to continue preparing for future programs like Canine Good Citizen.
Puppy Ninja Tails
Puppy Ninja Tails is our 5-week puppy agility and confidence-building class for puppies aged 12–20 weeks. This class is for curious little climbers, explorers, wiggle worms, future sports dogs, and puppies who need a fun place to build bravery.
Puppy Ninja Tails introduces agility-inspired learning in a safe, age-appropriate way. The goal is not speed, competition, or high-impact obstacle work. Instead, puppies learn to explore new surfaces, follow their handler, problem-solve, and move with confidence.
Activities may include tunnels, low platforms, balance games, cavalletti-style body awareness, beginner-level direction changes, toy play, and confidence-building with new sights, sounds, textures, and movement.
Because this class is designed for growing puppies, we avoid repetitive jumping, tight turns, and physically demanding sequences. Puppies learn through play, exploration, and positive reinforcement while building trust with their handler. Puppy Ninja Tails graduates receive 5% off Teen Ninja Tails.
What to Expect in Puppy Group Classes
All of our puppy group classes follow a thoughtful rhythm: a warm-up, skill-building exercises, guided practice, puppy-appropriate social learning, and a recap of what to practice at home. We keep things upbeat, reward-focused, and completely judgment-free.
Every puppy learns at their own pace. Some puppies are bold and busy. Some need time to observe. Some are still figuring out their bodies, brains, and big feelings. We meet puppies where they are and help their humans do the same.
We will share a full list of what to bring when you register. What are the most important things to bring? An open mind, humor, and a willingness to learn alongside your pup.
At Trusted Tails, puppy training is about more than teaching cues. It is about helping your puppy feel safe, connected, and ready to learn – one little tail at a time.
